The SECURE Meter Seal is a specialised tamper-evident security seal applied to utility meter terminal blocks, meter covers, and current-transformer chambers to prevent unauthorised access, theft of energy, and meter manipulation. Tamper-evident meter sealing is one of the lowest-cost, highest-leverage controls available to utilities — the per-seal cost is a tiny fraction of the billing exposure a tampered meter represents.

- Wire meter seal — thin stainless-steel wire threaded through cover bolts and terminated with a crimped lead or polycarbonate slug carrying the utility logo and serial.
- Polycarbonate meter seal — moulded plastic body with an integrated locking pin and a flag-shaped numbered tag.
- Hologram label seal — tamper-evident void-leaving label for low-risk applications.

Regulatory context (India)
Under most state electricity acts, breaking a meter seal without authorisation is a punishable offence and may constitute theft of electricity under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003. The seal serves both as a deterrent and as evidentiary basis for revenue-protection action. Whenever a meter is inspected, recalibrated, or its cover is opened for authorised work, the seal must be replaced and the new serial recorded against the consumer's account.
